During the last year the wind farm radar issue has been growing in the US. According to the New York Times, in 2009 approximately 9GW of proposed wind turbine developments were abandoned or delayed as a result of wind farm radar interference concerns raised by US military and aviation stakeholders. It should be noted that during the same year approximately the 9 GW of wind generated energy was actually built. The information is based on a member survey by the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA).
